Facebook Group Rules

With 225 000+ members and climbing, we manage some of the biggest rental focused groups on Facebook in South Africa. The following rules have been put in place to keep the groups in line with their objective of helping tenants, landlords and agents connect. By joining these groups you are agreeing to the following terms.
1. These groups purposes are to help Tenants, Landlords, and Agents connect with each other.
You are not allowed to create posts for building, handyman work, loans, or for the sale of household items and vehicles.
2. These groups focus on rentals.
Sale posts ARE allowed however these groups are focused on rentals. If you are only sharing sales posts, please use one of the groups focused on sales.
3. Rental Estate Agent posts.
Rental Estate agencies are allowed to post one "generic" advert type post per month per group. If you abuse this privileged you risk all your agents being removed from the group(s).
4. Please do NOT spam your rental offer multiple times per day.
Should you wish to update the price of your rental or edit the photos please use the "Edit my post" feature on your post. This will have the added effect of moving your post to the top of the feed. Please do not abuse this feature or risk being removed from the group(s).
5. Make your own post.
Do not hijack someone else’s post. ie. Do not offer your rental in the comments of someone else's post unless they are looking for a rental and yours is a match for their needs.
This also extends to pasting your web listing URL (from Gumtree/Private Property etc) into comments.
6. Be clear in your posts.
If you’re looking for a rental, take the time to add the price you’re looking to spend and the number of bedrooms. The more information you give in the post the easier it is for a Landlord to connect with you.
If you have a rental available, take the time to add details of price, location, bedrooms and if you allow pets/smoking etc. It also pays you to add at least 1 photo of the rental. This will help the right Tenant find you.
If you have a house for sale, take the time to add details of price, location, bedrooms etc. It also pays you to add at least 1 photo of the house you're selling. This will help the right buyer find you.
7. Do NOT comment on a post if you’re not interested in the opportunity.
If you are not interested in what the person posting has to offer please do not turn the comments into an argument. Everyone has different needs. Keep scrolling. Repeat offenders will be removed from the group(s).
8. Porn, Malware, Viruses
Any members who post malware/porn/viruses/ etc will be banned without prior notification. You can educate yourself here.
9. Get Rich / Ponzi / MLM Schemes
Any members who post get-rich/ponzi/MLM schemes etc will be banned without prior notification. You can educate yourself here.
10. Racism, hate speech, xenophobia & netiquette
Racism, hate speech, xenophobia, religious posts or general rudeness will NOT be tolerated and you will be banned.
Please also follow the basic rules of netiquette.
11. Rental Housing Act & Housing Tribunals

12. Reporting posts to Group Admins
If you believe a post is in violation of the group rules please click the “Report this post to admin” button so we can investigate. Do NOT get into an argument with another member, or you might be removed as well. Click "report" and let admin handle it. If you do not know how to report a post/comment you can educate yourself here.
Finally please note, these groups are NOT an agency. They are free groups aiming to help Tenants, Landlords, and Agents connect with each other, nothing more.
